About Costume Symposium
The Costume Symposium was set up to promote costume making and the associated skills vital to film and television, and bring together designers, makers and costume students from across the country to exchange ideas, learn from experienced practitioners in the field and celebrate their art. The annual event, held in a different region of the UK each year, consists of a day of talks from well known industry figures, with a panel discussion and costume demonstration, followed by two days of practical workshops with experienced tutors in areas such as corsetry, dyeing and enhancement, embroidery embellishment, handmade gloves, millinery and period tailoring.
