As part of our Step Up strand, we're offering training to help individuals coming back into the industry after a break, moving into a new role or responsibility level, or improving skills in unscripted TV.

AI isn’t just coming, it’s already landed and with programmes like ChatGPT and Midjourney offering TV developers a way to spend less time on research and more time on ambitious ideation, generative AI is fast becoming an invaluable, time-saving development tool.

In this accessible online session we look at three key areas where generative AI can help the unscripted development process: ideation, research and image generation. Demystifying Chat GPT and Midjourney through a series of Q and A’s and live demos, this session aims to help developers ranging from complete AI beginners to more confident users on how to start using AI for unscripted development. With topics including: how to interrogate and refine prompts, how to use AI imaginatively for brainstorming and a look at Midjourney for image generation, this session is a great practical introduction to generative AI. With plenty of time built in for questions and ad hoc demos, this is the perfect start for anyone wanting a fun, informative and digestible way of discovering how AI can help with unscripted development.

Who it's for

Anyone already working in development. The offering is for those at early career stage and above. As a result, we generally require applicants to have a minimum of six months experience working in development. No previous AI experience required.

The majority of the Unscripted Skills Fund (USF) online short course offering is for those at early career stage and above. As a result, we generally require applicants to have at least three credits (unless working in a traditionally uncredited role). If you strongly feel you would still benefit from the training, please email USF@screenskills.com so we can assess if an exception should be made.

We are committed to ensuring all our courses are accessible to everyone. This course is designed to be as interactive as possible.

Please email the above address if you have any access requirements and we will be delighted to help, be that clarifying the form such interaction is likely to take or discussing reasonable adjustments.
