Following our successful Live performance goes digital series last year, ScreenSkills and Liminal Stage are offering a ‘Creative Convergence’ training event designed to bring together professionals from screen, theatre, opera, live events and immersive to raise understanding of how creative technologies and processes are converging in the creative industries.

Commissioned by ScreenSkills using public funding from Arts Council England, Creative Convergence will give participants a hands-on introduction into areas of convergent process and production, including directing, lighting and producing in the context of virtual production and real-time game engines.

The workshop will be delivered across one-and-a-half days by experts in motion-capture, real-time engines and virtual production. It will be hosted by Target3D at their brand new virtual production (VP) and motion capture studio in central London. The workshop will be facilitated by Liminal Stage, a West Midlands-based company generating ambitious creative content at the intersection between live performance and emerging tech.

Who it's for

This opportunity is open to practitioners from the arts/cultural sector (especially theatre, dance, live events, music, opera, visual arts and heritage), with at least five years’ professional experience, who wish to expand their knowledge of the technologies and processes that are currently lending momentum to the convergence of the creative industries. We welcome applications from directors, choreographers, producers, production managers, lighting designers, stage technicians and other arts/culture professionals who can demonstrate that this training will develop their career and their creative/technical/production practice.
