This course is only open to applicants based in Wales.

This hands-on programme delivered by trainer and industry professional Lucy Harris at the new Gorilla  Academy in Cardiff will ensure you have the core skills required in the use of Media Composer, the knowledge of workflow of a scripted programme plus the ability to carry out day to day tasks that are the key requirements of an edit assistant. Having completed the course you will be confident in these processes from start to delivery using professional equipment.

This programme is funded by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund made up of contributions from UK high-end TV productions.

Who it's for

This course is only open to applicants based in Wales.

This training programme is for machine room operators or new entrants into post-production who would benefit from professional guidance and the practical skills required to be undertake the role of an edit assistant. This programme is also useful for current edit assistants who want to reinforce their current skills or assistants moving from an unscripted workflow into a scripted project.

  • delivering preview cuts
  • VFX integration/pulls
  • conforms
  • working with a post house

Lucy Harris has worked on some of the largest productions to come out of Wales in the last few years and has worked in both scripted and unscripted programming. We are delighted she is leading this programme as our principle trainer.
