Film Forward: Mentors

ScreenSkills' positive action programme Film Forward is designed to create change in the UK film industry by supporting experienced Black and Asian professionals to advance to more senior roles.

The initiative provides key on-the-job training alongside bursaries and mentoring to help effect real change in the industry and improve the diversity of productions across the UK.

The new cohort have all worked in below-the-line roles for over 5 years and are now looking for more senior industry figures to mentor them.

Who it's for

Highly experienced film industry professionals who are keen to support the Film Forward cohort as they progress their careers.  It is also a great opportunity for mentors to develop their own mentoring skills with the support of ScreenSkills Mentoring team.

What it covers

This will consist of six one-hour 1-2-1 mentoring sessions across six months. These can be virtual and/or in-person. 

Mentors will be provided with training and guidance on how to get the most out of mentoring before they begin.
