Hiring and managing a team for film professionals

There tends to be an expectation that once you take on a management role you are an expert on contract law and how to manage a team, which can be incredibly daunting if you’ve had no formal training.

This course will guide you through the process of recruiting a team, contract law and how to manage a team effectively throughout the production. 

This training is supported by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.

All sessions will be held in English.

Bydd y cwrs hwn yn eich arwain drwy’r broses o recriwtio tîm, cyfraith contractau a sut i reoli tîm yn effeithiol drwy gydol y cynhyrchiad.

Who it's for

This course is aimed at those who are involved in recruiting and managing teams. Whether you are in production, have your own production company or would like to brush up on your management skills.

By the end of the course you will learn how to recruit a team and effectively manage them to help your productions run smoothly and efficiently, as well as being aware of the legal obligations we have to our crew.   You will also learn practical tools & techniques to use with your teams and will be provided with a resource pack with further information and resources.

It will be broken down into easy to digest sections over 3 days and will include practical examples and discussions, as well as guidance and the chance to ask questions throughout.

How to apply

There will be two sets of three sessions:

- 1st set: Monday 16 of August (3pm - 4.15pm), Tuesday 17 of August (3pm - 4.15pm) and Wednesday 18 of Aug (3pm - 4pm).

Deadline for applying is Friday 30 July 2021 at midnight. 

- 2nd set: Monday 27 September (3pm - 4.15pm), Tuesday 28 of September (3pm - 4.15pm) and Wednesday 29 of September (3pm - 4pm). 

Deadline for applying is Friday 10 September at midnight.
