Financial controller Lucy Drake will demystify production accounting, explaining the roles and responsibilities of a production accountant and how to work effectively with them.

Lucy will also highlight the importance of cost reports, balance sheets, trial balances, and reconciliations. As well as audit preparations and consequences.

This is an invaluable session for producers and production crew wanting to gain a greater understanding of production accounting.

It is also relevant for assistant accountants wanting to gain a greater understanding of the head of department role.

Speaker

Lucy Drake is a freelance financial controller, with over 20 years experience, who also provides consultancy, training and coaching in the film and TV industry. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant who started working as a Drama production accountant in the BBC, where she progressed to Senior Production Accountant. Lucy has worked in the UK and Worldwide. 

Lucy is a founding committee member of the Production Accounting Forum and co-authored their Best Practice Guide to Production Accounting website. She also develops and runs training programmes for various organisations including NFTS, The Production Guild, BBC, Moneypenny and various Universities.
