ScreenSkills HETV and film accounts industry transfer programme
Do you work in finance and love television and film?
ScreenSkills high-end TV and film accounts industry transfer programme is seeking talented individuals working in finance roles outside the screen industries who would like to join the growing and dynamic world of TV drama and film production by transferring their skills into production accounting.
This programme is funded by the ScreenSkills Film and High-End TV Skills Funds made up of contributions from high-end TV productions and films made in the UK. This programme is being delivered by Lightforge Academy.
Who it's for
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a UK resident and have the right to work here
- Have 5+ years industry experience in accounting roles outside the industry
- Be serious about a career in television and film accounts
- Be available to attend all the sessions of the online training

What it covers
Participants will get access to 17 online training modules which will be enhanced by four online tutorial sessions with leading television and film industry professionals.
The course content will include:
- Accounting processes and procedures
- Accounts payable & reporting
- Petty cash, payroll, budgeting
- The role of first assistant production accountant
- Overview of budgeting systems used by industry
- Practical case studies
- Soft skills
The course will run on the following dates:
- 3 May, 2023 from 18:00 to 19:00
- 10 May, 2023 from 18:00 to 19:00
- 17 May, 2023 from 18:00 to 19:00
- 24 May, 2023 from 18:00 to 19:00
In addition there will be a 'meet the employers' gathering for each cohort.
Following the course, 25 paid placements will be be awarded to a number of participants on high-end TV dramas and feature films throughout the UK.
By the end of the training, participants will have gained a broad understanding of how the high-end TV and film industries work and a detailed understanding of the role and requirements of a production accountant.
