The Select Sessions are a series of online employability training sessions for students studying on ScreenSkills Select endorsed courses. They provide you with professional advice on a range of topics direct from industry and focus on supporting you to gain the best opportunity for a successful career in the screen industries.  

ScreenSkills has a series of e-learning modules on Getting into the screen industries which are a prerequisite for attending any Select Session event. 

Who it's for

This online session is exclusively for ScreenSkills Select students interested in careers in film & TV. 

We are also running sessions for those interested in careers in games, animation and VFX and you can explore the full programme on the Select Student Hub.

  • What steps can you take now, whilst studying, to fast track your career in screen?
  • How can you build and leverage your networks? You know more people than you think you do
  • Want to know if there is local work or if you need to consider moving?

Get yourself ready for the world of work with this one-hour intensive webinar and transform your passion into a successful and sustainable career. With practical tips and insights from industry professionals, this panel conversation will shine a light on what you can do now to prepare for starting your career, planning and managing your finances, how to identify local opportunities and networks, as well as building and maintaining your networks.

This ScreenSkills Select Employability session is delivered by Alison Grade, CEO, Mission Accomplished and author of The Freelance Bible. Alison will be joined by a panel of industry professionals with recent experience of breaking into the industry and will share their expertise and insight on getting started:

This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘Get ticket’ and follow the instructions to book your place: you must login or register before you are able to complete your booking.

If you are no longer able to attend, we ask you to please use the 'cancel your ticket' function on the right hand side of the page so that we can release your place to somebody else.
