Telly Mums Network Mentoring Programme: Mentees
On International Women’s Day, Telly Mums Network are proud to be partnering with ScreenSkills for the launch of the inaugural Mum to Mum Mentoring Scheme 2021.
As the name implies, this strategy is specially aimed at mothers from all levels, backgrounds and nationwide in the TV Industry. We have all seen so many talented women leave the industry after having or adopting children and with 1 in 3 mothers suffering from a mental health problem after giving birth, we hope this scheme will go some way towards addressing the problem of retaining female talent in the industry and to give well needed support.
Whether you are a new mum worried about coming back to work after maternity leave, or a mum who has had a long career break, or even a mum who has just lost her way in TV and needs a helping hand, we will aim to find you a mentor who can help you feel more confident about the next steps in your career and navigate the juggle of both parenthood and working in our industry.
Initially a mentee will be given six sessions over a six month period.
The ScreenSkills Mentoring Network, which includes resources for mentors and mentees, is supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funds as part of its Future Film Skills strategy.
Telly Mums Network was set up in 2019 to support, connect and empower busy working mums and now has nearly 1100 members. If you want to join the Network, please email tellymumsnetwork@gmail.com.
