ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund is partnering with Women in Film and Television (WFTV UK) to fund The Julie Burnell Scholarship: WFTV Production Management Programme.
This initiative reflects WFTV’s ongoing commitment to supporting women in production management and helping them advance their careers in HETV. For this particular programme, WFTV and ScreenSkills are welcoming applications from women from low-socio economic backgrounds who are based in the North of England.
The scholarship will provide four selected women with an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate their careers and develop as future industry leaders.
The scholarship is in tribute to the late Julie Burnell, former Head of Production for Drama at ITV Studios and former High-end TV Skills Fund chair, who passed away in 2023. Julie was a highly respected production executive, instrumental in bringing acclaimed dramas such as Vera, Lewis, Mr Selfridge, and Poirot to the screen.
