Are you considering applying to ScreenSkills’ Trainee Finder programme?
Are you considering a career in the locations department?
Would you like to know more about how the department operates and the work involved?
Then this is the ideal ScreenSkills webinar to help you explore what it’s like to work in the locations department.
The event will take the format of a chaired panel conversation including audience Q&A.
This session will be chaired by Alison Grade. The panel will be made up of a senior professional in the Locations department, Andy Picheta (Location Manager with credits including Victoria, Dad's Army and Becoming Elizabeth) and recent trainees to give a full picture of the department, the work of a trainee and the opportunities for progression.
By the end of the event attendees will have a good understanding of:
- What the locations department does
- What the roles are within the locations department and what exactly they do
- What work is expected of a locations trainee
- What skills a locations trainee needs to have
- What hiring professionals are looking for on a CV
This online webinar will take place on Wednesday 25 October from 18:00 - 19:00. Please note that this webinar will not be recorded.

Who it's for
This session is for those interested in applying to the Trainee Finder programme.
To apply for Trainee Finder you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be over 18 years old – there is no upper age limit
- Live in the UK and have evidence of the right to work in the UK
- Have completed full-time education by 31 March, 2024 – there are no education requirements to be on Trainee Finder however, if you are enrolled in full-time education, you are not eligible for this programme as you will not be available to complete placements
- Have less than 12 months of relevant, paid experience in your chosen department within film or high-end TV (HETV) productions
- Be open and flexible to considering opportunities across the UK
Demonstrate an interest in and commitment to your chosen department - Be committed to attending training sessions organised by ScreenSkills throughout the 12 months
