Discussing virtual production techniques used on House of the Dragon seasons 1 & 2
Join the second online webinar as part of the Virtual production webinar series for 2024 - 2025 to hear about how virtual production techniques were used in High-end TV production House of the Dragon Season 1 and Season 2.
Virtual production is being used more regularly in a range of television productions. As a result, it is becoming increasingly important to have an understanding of what it is and how it works.
This programme is funded by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund made up of contributions from high-end TV productions made in the UK.

The three speakers in the session will be:
James Thompson
James Thompson is a virtual production supervisor specialising in previsulisation, techvisualisation, postvisualisation, virtual production, in-house VFX for film and television, advertising and immersive entertainment. He has worked on productions such as House of the Dragon season 2 (2024), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023), Jurassic World Dominion (2022), and Spiderman Far From Home (2019).
Mark Dauth
Mark Dauth is an Unreal and compositing lead at Pixomondo who led the Unreal environment team as well the comp teams working on the VP-heavy sequences for House of the Dragon season 1. He has worked on productions such as 3 Body Problem (2024) Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and Star Trek: Discovery (2021).
Jillian Sanders
Jillian Sanders is a VFX production coordinator at Pixomondo, specializing in previz, virtual production, and post-production VFX. With a solid foundation in virtual production from her previous role at Garden Studios in West London, Jillian progressed from studio runner to VP coordinator. In 2023, she spent most of the year at PXO working on House of the Dragon season 2, eventually operating out of Leavesden Studios to both deliver the previz and support the innovative motion control, VP shoots that helped bring the series to life.
The webinar will be chaired by Jordan Jarrett-Bryan.
Jordan Jarrett-Bryan is an award winning journalist and broadcaster.
He's the sports correspondent for Channel 4 News and has a weekly show on the biggest sports radio station in the world, talkSPORT. He was a reporter and presenter for Channel 4’s award-winning coverage of the 2012, 2016 and 2021 Paralympic Games, reporting on most sports including wheelchair basketball.
