About

I am originally from New Zealand where after completing a Horticulture Degree, I started working as a Professional Actor in Television, Immersive Location-based Theatre, and Radio. I also spent a brief period dabbling in Professional Set and Lighting Design and Rigging.

Working in-between acting jobs, as a Mental Health Community Support Worker and Carer I developed a passion for giving a creative voice to those who would not normally be given the opportunity to do so. As a result, for the last 25 years, I have developed and delivered creative training, confidence-building programmes and creative productions in the community for Adults and Young People in Schools, Homeless Hostels, Care Homes, Prisons, and Charities.

Now, as Physical Folk, we provide professional creative training and mentoring support for unemployed 16 to 24 year olds as new entrants into the Film/Media Industry, many of whom either have Autism or need Mental Health support. We cover all aspects of the Storytelling Journey both behind and in front of the camera from Initial Idea Creation to Post Production and Screening.

As a Certified Training Partner for Blackmagic Design in DaVinci Resolve software, I offer Professional Certification in Post Production (Film Editing/Colouring/Sound Design/Motion Graphics). I specialise in training beginners and self-starters to enable them to make their own films and digital experiences to tell their own stories. I also act as a Creative Co-Producer for select projects.

I am currently transitioning into XR and immersive storytelling, primarily with an interest in Inclusion, Mental Health, Autism, and Environmental Sustainability.

If you are interested in having a chat about what we do and explore any potential opportunities for collaboration, then you can email me at: lance@physicalfolk.org.uk

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Stay safe.

Lance
