Jonny has been working in the industry since 2006, firstly in the equipment rental business before moving into freelance work in factual and documentary sound recording. Seeking further challenges, and with a desire to work on high-quality productions, he decided to make a move towards high-end TV (HETV) to seek out the kind of work he would find most satisfying.

Jonny’s lifelong passion for sound and technology coupled with the need for creative problem-solving and excellent teamwork brings him a huge amount of job satisfaction. He wants to take that to the next level and embrace the challenges that come with leading a team on a big production.

Jonny is currently a HETV Leader of Tomorrow. Participants in the three-year inclusion programme for mid-level professionals are nominated by senior colleagues in high-end TV. Jonny’s nominator Rupert Ivey said: "I am in no doubt that Jonny’s absolutely the right kind of candidate and I’m sure that with Leaders of Tomorrow, he will stand a great chance of achieving his goals. Right from the start, his level of proficiency was clear. He was not only excellent at his job but also very knowledgeable about equipment and the mixing side of things. He is clearly ambitious with skills to match. With his knowledge and ambition, Jonny soon became my default standby mixer. I do not think I have ever had a 1st assistant so ready to become a production sound mixer. I would always be happy to have Jonny as a part of my team."
