Location Runner
Me, a runner and a DOP from Daisybeck travelled up to the Isle of Lewis to meet a couple who sold their house in County Durham for a Croft 10 miles west of Stornoway. I helped the DOP carry around Equipment, spoke to the contributors while the DOP set up cameras, carried around different lenses in case needed and timecoded shots using my timecode app.

Channel 4 Showcase - I was selected to work with Brilliant Trees media in London for a shoot that promoted some of Channel 4 programs they had lined up for 2022. I helped move kit around and tea and coffee making for crew. I would listen to the director, taking note of tips and ideas she would have. She asked what my thoughts and ideas were occasionally on styles of shots. It was great to have a creative input on this production.

Team Leader Bar Staff
During my time at the students union I was in charge of staff, stock and general upkeep of the bar. As you can imagine, the bar was very busy each night due to the events we hosted for students. I made sure the bar was well stocked for the night ahead and that staff were all happy. We all worked as a team, under a lot of pressure as the bar got busier but managed.

Student ambassador
Along side my studies and working at the SU bar I worked with the heart of the SU and with students. I saw supporting struggling students a huge privilege at the time. From seeing them struggling to watching them blossom (through helping them find a society or social club) and finish their course module. I also help promote and manage events that the SU were hosting. From LGBTQI+ events to international students week, I met all different kinds of people in all their glory.

Rusty Riches Pilot episode - during my first year of university a company called UnitePlus reached out to my tutor asking for a student to be selected to help on set to produce a show. My name was put down and I was selected to help over spring/ summer. I gained some great experience within all sectors of production. I helped and shadow the production coordinator / camera operators / editors. It was then pitched to UKTV for commission.

Great Yorkshire show / Blyth tall ships - not long after leaving school I wanted to make sure that working in TV was right for me. I contacted my local news company to see if it would be possible to gain any work experience. They got back to me offering me two runner roles for events they had coming up. These were my first runner credits and it sealed the deal that I wanted to peruse a career in television.
