Locations Work Experience (First Break - Brassic Season 5)
Initially joining the Locations Department as First Break - Work Experience, organised by ScreenSkills partnering with Sky UK, I had an immersive journey of practical learning both on set and at production base, understanding safety, roles and protocols, administration, research and planning. As the experience came to a close, I was hired directly as a Location Assistant (Trainee), briefs and tasks included: - • On set liaison with the local community and business managers to secure locations, ensuring location health and safety measures are met, erecting easy-ups for camera moves in bad weather, clearing and preparing parking zones ahead of crew and cast arrival to a location. • Desk based location research for episodes 5 - 8, identifying potential unit bases, locations distance from production base, weather forecast, events, traffic impact and utility works planning. • Location scouting episodes 5 - 8 including co-ordinating the presentation of location proposals to heads of department, composing and fulfilling door drop notifications, liaising with location owners and business managers to negotiate and discuss the process of securing locations.
