About

Heather is based in Glasgow, Scotland, and began working in sound for television and film 16 years ago, honing her craft across all sound production roles on projects across the UK. Her key focus and passion has always been in sound design, which led to her working full time in post production sound as a sound effects editor and dubbing mixer in high-end TV (HETV), feature documentary and film. During this time, she has worked on a number of award-winning productions with clients such as Lionsgate, Amazon Prime, Paramount and BBC Studios. She has received nominations for her sound design work including an RTS nomination for her sound design in Karen Pirie (World Productions) in 2023. As well as the ScreenSkills Leaders of Tomorrow programme, she was also selected as one of the first members of the Channel 4 4PP scheme cohort in 2023.

Heather is keen to develop her skills and expertise in the industry across the programme, with a focus on working towards the role of Sound Designer and Supervising Sound Effects Editor on high-end television drama and film.

Leaders of Tomorrow is a three-year inclusion programme for mid-level professionals. Participants are nominated by senior colleagues in high-end TV. Heather’s nominator Emma Butt said: "Heather is one of the most talented sound editors I have come across. Not only is she hard working, she takes a unique creative approach to every project she is involved in and finds every way to make the soundscape of a film or a show as immersive and textured as possible. Currently, in the whole of the UK, the number of supervising sound editors who identify as women can probably be counted on one hand. I know that with the help of this programme, Heather can finally step up into the supervising sound role and help change that figure."
