Film Forward Step-Up Role: 3rd AD Crowd – Film / 2nd AD Crowd - Film
The element of the Film Forward programme I am most looking forward to is meeting my peers who work in film and learning the tricks of the trade; tips that can help me be a great crowd 2nd and 3rd in film, building on my experience in television.
After defying my strict South Asians parents, I eloped for my true love, cinema, to study filmmaking at Prague Film School. I returned to England, broke and more in love with film as ever. I had to fight my way into the UK film and TV industry. It took six years but I persevered and got my first break in Frances Lee’s God Own Country. I switched from production to the best department in the world, the AD department. I love chatting with people and helping others so this department is great for me. Now I want to go up the ladder and work with crowd, to be a more rounded AD. Film Forward provides a gentle step up for promotion working alongside a senior crew member without being thrown in at the deep end.
