About
Originally from the West Midlands, Danielle studied a BA in Media Production at the University of Winchester. Shortly after graduating, Danielle started her career as a floor runner on BBC One drama Mistresses. She moved to Wales to begin working on Doctor Who and continued her journey to become an experienced assistant director, working her way up through the ranks from 3rd AD to 2nd AD. 13 years later, Danielle is still busy working on high-end TV (HETV) dramas such as Sex Education (Netflix), Willow (Lucasfilm/Disney+) and Black Cake (Hulu), where she was fortunate enough to spend six weeks filming in Jamaica. Danielle is excited for everything to come from being a ScreenSkills Leader of Tomorrow and the opportunities that will progress her career into becoming a 1st Assistant Director.
Leaders of Tomorrow is a three-year inclusion programme for mid-level professionals. Participants are nominated by senior colleagues in high-end TV. Danielle’s nominator Adam Knopf said: "As one of the go-to 2nd assistant directors in Wales for a number of years, Danni has been involved in on-the-job training for a number of world class ADs. It's definitely time for her to be able to invest in her own career progression to 1st AD and beyond. I believe Leaders of Tomorrow will help her make that leap in the very near future and I cannot wait to see where it takes her."
