About
Dr. Sabina Shah is an Independent Filmmaker (Self-shooter and Researcher): Founder of UNBLINKERED MEDIA. Sabina completed a practice-based PhD in Drama and Screen Studies, that examined themes of race and gender on screen, from the Centre for Screen Studies at the University of Manchester in December 2017. Sabina's objective is for her research to be of use for the media/broadcast industry and NGOs via the use of filmmaking.
To gain knowledge in the field it has been vital for Sabina to observe and to be actively involved in the film, media and music industry. Music projects have led to records being released and aired Internationally on radio, including a live session and interviews with the BBC. Furthermore experience has been obtained from HandMade Films, Pinewood and Denham Studios, various production houses such as Black Diamond and Arena Digital to television broadcast channels for instance Extreme Sports and Rajya Sabha Television, the latter being owned and operated by the Indian Upper Parliament in Delhi.
Sabina is active across the University as a HEA (Higher Education Academy) accredited Teaching Fellow and has been working as a Teaching Assistant and Assistant Lecturer within both the Drama and History Divisions covering undergraduate course units: 'The Art of Film', 'Documentary', 'Colonial Encounters: Violence, Race and the Modern World' and 'Histories of the Islamic World' expanding further into animation consultancy for undergraduates and a Lecturer for practice-based PhD students. Prior to this Sabina studied at the London College of Music and Media where she obtained a 1st for her MA in Video Production and Film Studies. Upon completion she worked with the senior lecturer teaching 'Video Editing' to MA students. The practice-based academic journey began with a B.A (hons) in the field of Music and Visual Arts from the University of Brighton.

Lecturer in Film Production
As part of a team, I teach Film Production to undergraduate students. Teaching involves the students' use of Panasonic EVA1 cameras, pitching, scripts, production schedules, working with sound, on and off-site locations including working in a studio on sets.
