About

When I was 3 I wanted to become a forester, when I was 11 an architect, at 14 I wanted to attend political science or become an actress.
I became a vegetarian, animal-activist, aesthete, political lined up director.

I live in London with my two kids - a 9yo boy with a big passion for numbers and a 6yo anarchist - and their dad.

As a director, I try to discover the core of a script and to use different visual languages to emphasise it, often drawing on puppetry, physical theatre, music and opera.

I ran Ursa Maior theatre group for 10 years before moving to London, 4 years ago. Working as director, artistic director and producer for my own company, I have led national tours in Italy and coordinated a theatre season in the historic Filippo Neri Theatre in Bologna. Ursa Maior projects have been supported by the National Agency of the European Union, Padua University, Rosa Luxemburg Foundation of Berlin, Women's Centre of Bologna, Italian Cultural Institute of London.

In the past 4 years I have worked in London on a show performed at the Brighton (2013) and Edinburgh (2014) Fringe Festivals.

“An engaging, funny and clever insight into the Italian Prime Minister’s abuses and their wider repercussion” – Broadway Baby

“Possibly the most eclectic and sideways commemoration of the First World War” - The Scotsman

Working with puppeteer Helen Ainsworth, I have recently funded Cut Moose, a collaboration dedicated to creating thought provoking theatre that is visually stimulating, entertaining and often surreal.

Point de Fuite - Vanishing Point, the first Cut Moose show, premiered during Refugee Week at Rich Mix in June 2016. The show investigates the way the European Media talks about immigration and puts our reaction in the spotlight.

"The subject matter remains increasingly relevant and was explored in a very innovative and creative way” - Oliver Carruthers - Rich Mix Head of Programming

Audience comments:

"The lack of spoken dialogue unlocked all sorts of emotional potential & humor"

"Scarily not absurd"

"Different, challenging, interesting"

"Very tought provoking"

In this following year I'm going to work on a touring opera for children and on a show about the Italian years of the lead.
