About
I have just finished a Film BA Hons at Solent University and am awaiting my final results. I have a love for the film industry with a passion centred towards Screenwriting, but greatly enjoy being involved on set and working as part of a larger team.
I plan on continuing my education next year at UWE in Bristol by studying a Masters in Screenwriting, but want to take a year away from education to gain more relevant experience and knowledge surrounding the professional workplace. ScreenSkills has helped me multiple times throughout my degree with its online resources catered to students and those just starting out.

Experience
-
Assistant Director
In June of this year, I worked as an Assistant Director for three days on a short film shoot for Cloud House Films. This was my first time acting as a 1st AD and I enjoyed every second of it. I learned valuable skills in scheduling, communication and teamwork while on set with the other crew members and have established professional relationships with many of the crew as a consequence. Despite it being my first time as AD, I embraced this challenge and as a result many have said I performed brilliantly. I will definitely take the knowledge I gained from this shoot and use it in my future career.

Bar Tender
In between my higher education, I worked as a Bar Tender in my local pub, until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I had responsibilities handling money, being conscious of workplace hygiene and dealing with customers. I feel my social skills surrounding customer service improved tenfold because of this role and I feel very comfortable talking to new customers.
-
Assistant to Producer
In May of 2017 I was offered the role of Assistant to the Producer on a small weekend shoot for a TV pilot with Bedlam Productions. This was my first time experiencing a film set at just 17 years old. I gained experience in working to deadlines, being focused and always being available to help others on set. This is knowledge that I took forward into my Film degree and that I have retained and improved from my three years of higher education.
-
Sales Assistant
I was a Christmas Temp at HMV in Basingstoke for just over a month. This was my first time working in retail and provided me with experience in customer service. From this role I gained many transferable skills, such as responsibilities handling money, ensuring customer satisfaction with good social skills and working as a member of a team. I loved this job as I also got to expand my love for film and the industry, being around films constantly.

BA Hons Film
For three years, I studied the BA Hons Film degree at Solent University. From this course I have gained experience by working various roles on film sets and writing my own screenplays. I worked alongside lecturers who ranged from academic novelists to filmmakers and cinematographers that allowed me to gain relevant industry knowledge. I am due to receive my final graduation grade on the 29th July, but am predicted a 1st Class Honours.

Foundation Degree Art and Design
I attended BCOT studying an Art and Design Foundation degree for a year. Studying for this year allowed me to pinpoint my true interests in film and apply to university with the help of my teachers. This year was essentially my gap year before higher education, but proved useful with improving my illustration and graphic design skills, which I still enjoy as a hobby to this day.
