Laura or as most people know her, Loz, is a Third Assistant Director working in Film and TV, primarily in the Cardiff and South West area. Originally from North Wales, Loz graduated from Brighton Film School with a 1:1 in Film Production. After graduating, and gaining some experience as a runner, she was accepted onto Screenskill’s Trainee Finder scheme in Film. During this time she worked in London, North Wales and Cardiff before basing herself in South Wales.

Over the last seven years she has worked her way from runner to Third AD. Working as a runner on Industry S3 (2019), A Discovery of Witches (2020), The Lazarus Project (2021) before being stepped up to Third AD on the second unit of Gareth Evan’s action film Havoc (2021). Loz has continued to work as a Third AD in both Film and TV. Her credits including the final season of Doc Martin (2022), Bafta winning crime drama The Sixth Commandment (2022), crime comedy The Outlaws S3 (2023). In 2024 she worked on the BBC’s adaptation of Paris Lee’s memoir, ‘What if feels like for a girl’, a special project for Laura as she was surrounded by strong women and fellow queer people.

At the end of 2024, Laura was accepted onto Screen Skills Leaders of Tomorrow cohort 4. The scheme begins in January 2025 and Laura is incredibly excited to work toward focusing her career, and continuing to learn and grow over the next three years of the course as an AD.
