This role entails…
To act as general assistant across all areas of TV production supporting editorial and production management colleagues in the delivery of outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform and commercially successful content within operational, financial and legal parameters.
Key responsibilities:
CREATE, PLAN, INITIAL SET UP
- To support the production management team during the planning process and assist with the day to day running of the production office eg. allocation of desks/phone numbers, booking taxis, ordering stationery, photocopying, distribution of production information and documentation (eg. contacts lists, call sheets, scripts)
- Help maintain a safe and tidy working environment once established
- To assist the production manager in ensuring production teams complete all mandatory training
- To provide general support to the department or production
- To manage Creative Director’s diary
- Clearing expenses for senior team as required
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT (if assigned to a production)
- Act as general assistant on studio or location record days undertaking any tasks as required by editorial or production management colleagues
- Keep across production schedules and call sheets and anticipate artiste call times, taxi delivery and pick up times, arrival of props etc
- Ensure the studio floor and location have clear access/egress routes
- Provide hospitality for cast and crew/assist with the stocking of refreshment areas
- Help keep crews and public quiet during takes
- Assist with any ‘running’ between location/hotel/base eg. pick up of equipment/props etc
- Take responsibility for ‘petty cash’ float on location if required for purchases of small items/refreshments and submit associated expenses in a timely manner
- Assist with studio/location housekeeping/disposal of rubbish in line with ITV’s sustainability policy
- Make sure contributor release forms are signed / collected as directed
- To act up to cover roles as/when required and undertake any other ad-hoc requests/tasks as advised by the manager
- Assist with development ‘tasters’ as required by Creative Director/Development Executive.
TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT OF MEDIA ASSETS
- To demonstrate good IT skills and develop a sound working knowledge of google applications assisting in the management of production google documentation/sites
- To develop a knowledge of cameras, other technical equipment and the end to end production process (capture, editing) assisting with the smooth running of location shoots and the post production process where required

Minimum role criteria:
- Candidates should above all be keen to learn, proactive in the production environment and ready to undertake whatever tasks are required to ensure the smooth running of a production. They should demonstrate the potential to move on successfully to other roles within production either within editorial, technical or production management career paths.
- Experience of successful teamworking
- Demonstrable ability to work well under direction, knowing when to refer up and keeping relevant people updated
- Good organisational and problem solving skills
- Demonstrable passion/interest in the industry with potential to pursue a successful career in an editorial, production management or a technical role
- Experience of organising travel and accommodation

- General understanding of Health & Safety on location/in studio (training given)
- Full, clean driving licence holder
