Film Skills Fund contributor Conclave took home four awards at this year's BAFTAs, including best film and outstanding British film.

The political thriller directed by Edward Berger, written by Peter Straughan and starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and Isabella Rossellini, also won for adapted screenplay and editing.

Fellow contributor Kneecap - a comedy drama depicting the rise of an Irish hip-hop trio from Belfast - won outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer.

Written and directed by Rich Peppiatt, Kneecap premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival - the first film in the Irish language to do so.

In addition, there were 10 productions that contributed to the ScreenSkills Skills Funds who received a total of 28 nominations.

Apart from the two winning films, Steve McQueen’s wartime film, Blitz, received nominations for outstanding British film, sound and costume.

There were two nominations each for Mike Leigh’s Hard Truths and the Saoirse Ronan-led The Outrun, which were both recognised in the outstanding British film and best leading actress categories.

Fellow contributors Bird, HoardSantosh and Sister Midnight each received one nomination while the animated film Kensuke’s Kingdom, a contributor to the Animation Skills Fund, was nominated for the best family film award.

In addition to contributing to the Skills Funds, six of the nominated productions offered placements to a trainee from the new entrant initiative, Trainee Finder, providing vital workplace experience to 21 candidates taking their first steps of their screen careers.

Contributions from productions like these help the Film Skills Fund deliver training and career opportunities for the UK's film workforce at every stage of their screen journey.

We thank them for their contribution and congratulate them on their BAFTA wins.
