Sinéad Rocks, Managing Director, Nations and Regions, Channel 4, is stepping down from the Board of ScreenSkills, and as Chair of the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Steering Group. Sinéad joined the Board in September 2020.
“As both a member of the Board and Chair of the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Steering Group, Sinéad has been a tireless advocate of both the Unscripted TV Skills Fund and ScreenSkills,” said Lisa Opie, Interim Chair, ScreenSkills.
“Her insight, pragmatism, wit and tenacity have been invaluable. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Sinéad for her commitment, and for ensuring that Channel 4 has been an exemplary partner to work with.”
As a member of the Board and Chair of the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Steering Committee, Sinead has been central to the success of the Unscripted TV Skills Fund since before it launched in June 2021. During her tenure, the number of broadcasters and streamers who contribute to the Fund has doubled.
She has also played a significant role in ensuring that the Fund has delivered training and development programmes that have not only helped the unscripted TV workforce develop their careers but also continues to support them through the current downturn.
“It has been a real pleasure to work alongside Jane and all the broadcasters, streamers and production companies that make the USF so impactful,” commented Sinéad Rocks. “It has never been more important to support those that work in unscripted TV and Channel 4 remains committed to both ScreenSkills and the Fund. I look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
Kevin Blacoe, Head of Partnerships and Skills, Channel 4, will join the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Steering Group.
“Sinéad has been pivotal to the success of the Unscripted TV Skills Fund. Her incisive leadership of the Fund’s Steering Group has enabled the Fund to support the UK’s unscripted workforce with training and development opportunities and help them in the current challenging environment,” added Jane Muirhead, Chair, Unscripted TV Skills Fund Council. “Her brilliant overview of the skills landscape, combined with her collaborative approach means that she leaves the Fund in good shape for the future. On behalf of the Skills Council and its working groups I would like to add my thanks to Sinéad for her dedication to the unscripted genre.”
