There were big wins for HETV Skills Fund contributors at this year’s Royal Television Society (RTS) Craft & Design Awards. Held at London’s Hilton on Park Lane, the ceremony celebrated the best behind-the-camera achievements of the year and highlighted the vital work that goes into creating the shows the world watches.

Across 29 competitive categories there were wins for 11 productions that contributed to the High-end TV Skills Fund, including three wins for the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring thriller, Eric. The inventively styled production picked up awards for SFX, photography and picture enhancement.

There were wins in the editing categories for fellow Fund contributors Peacock and Masters of the Air, which collected the awards in the comedy and entertainment and scripted categories respectively.

Elsewhere, BBC dramas Boiling Point and Doctor Who were rewarded in the titles design and production design categories, while ITV’s The Long Shadow and Three Little Birds won the RTS for costume design and make-up design.

Screen adaptations of popular novels, One Day and The Tattooist of Auschwitz, were also successful, picking up the award for scripted direction (One Day) and VFX. More wins came for Fund contributors Baby Reindeer and We Are Lady Parts with the productions being awarded in the sound and original music score categories.

The night culminated with the Outstanding Contribution Award, presented to award-winning producer, writer and director Peter Kosminsky, whose Wolf Hall adaptation was also a contributor to the Fund.

The Craft & Design Awards help showcase the range and talent of the UKs workforce and provide an opportunity to recognise those who bring productions to life.

We congratulate both winning and nominated productions and thank each of them for their contributions to the Fund.
