About

Hi my name is Liam, I’m 21 and I just graduated at Ravensbourne University with a first degree honours in Animation and I’m looking for my first break into the industry.

For the past 5-6 years of my life I have been pursuing this career. I am a very dedicated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual who has excellent punctuality. I try my best at anything given to me and especially even more so when it’s something I love and I love making things in 3d. I’m an all-round generalist being able to model, rig and animate in 3d. However I would say I specialise in Modelling and have good skills in both hard edge and soft edge modelling as well as sculpting. I understand how to model things with correct topology for rigging and know how to uv map, decimate and reproject details onto lower res models. As well as this I also have some experience cleaning up mocap data after collaborating overseas with a new Zealand university who specialise in recording data.

I always look to better myself. I like to learn and have completed numerous extracurricular activities like Scott Eatons ‘Anatomy for artist’ online course to help refine and improve my knowledge of anatomy and modelling. I’ve also attended masterclass workshops from Pixar and recently had the chance to work with Escape Studios over a term to produce and have my work reviewed by actual professionals. I like to keep up to date with the behind the scenes of the industry and am a keen goer of attending events and festivals for networking reasons as well as pleasure. With the most recent being Animex in Middlesbrough. I am also a long lasting subscriber to digital tutors and gnomon over the years and like to share what I learn to others. I find teaching fun and have posted a lot of solutions to CG message boards over the years as well as helping out my classmates and teachers from time to time.

I’ve also had the luck to gain work experience as a runner whilst in my second year at uni. Those two weeks were very insightful to me and reassured me this is the line of work I wanted to be in. Away from my 3d skillset I also have a few technical skills in basic coding and am able to code in html, css and melscript at a beginner level. In addition I can also web design, create and install themes in wordpress and have skills in UI design, which I can make both frontend designs and wireframe mockups for application, websites and game menus.
