About
Hari Ramakrishnan is a writer and performer based in Bristol. He was recently named one of Bristol's "24 Most Influential People Aged 24 and Under" by Rife Magazine for his work as a writer and performer. Earlier this year, he made a short film through Channel 4's Random Acts call out, where the UK's most promising filmmakers aged 16-24 are chosen to create their first broadcast quality film. It has been on exhibition at Tyneside Cinema (Newscastle), HOME (Manchester), Arnolfini (Bristol) and Encounters Film Festival (Bristol) as part of the Playback Festival.
Last year, Hari was chosen as one of the UK's top 50 creative young people by The Latimer Group and BBC Three to pilot 'Playground' - the initiative behind shaping BBC Three's content when it moves online. Hari also works as professional wrestling manager Pariah Khan on the British wrestling circuit.
In 2015 and 2016, he was chosen by Bristol Old Vic's Literary Department to be a Script Reader for their Open Session window, providing feedback on playwrights' submissions. His work has been performed at scratch nights at the following venues: Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory Theatre, The Bike Shed in Exeter, Nuffield Southampton and Camden People's Theatre. While at university, he directed, wrote and performed in two original musical productions hosted at the Lyceum Theatre featuring a cast of over 130 people.
