About
I am a member of BECTU - the media and entertainment trade union.
I've worked in the industry for over 15 years, in many fields, from fashion to MUSFX. My big specialism is Special Effects Make Up.
As a Make-up, SFX designer and hair stylist I like to pride myself on my professional attitude to my work and an ability to get stuck into any job I am on.
The ability to assess the needs and requirements of each client as an individual is paramount to ensuring a good service. A client who feels comfortable and as an important individual will respond accordingly, and so often the Make-up artist can step into the role of the therapist through this relationship and the closeness and trust it demands.
Respecting privacy and judging boundaries are therefore skills almost as important as being good with your brushes, and my application of this in my work is a crucial part of my role as a Make-up artist.
As an assistant, designer or on dailies as part of a team, I work my socks off to make sure the artists and crew view me as an integral part of the process when filming, no matter how short or long that may be for.
Background
In 2012 I won a scholarship at a Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, USA. I entered the Son Of Montsterpoloza 2012 competition with cat Sphinx Make-up. In 2013 I did a demo at the IMATS in Los Angeles, USA with a "Waterfall Doll" originally made by the French artist, Virgine Ropars.
I transferred the idea from the doll to a live model.
I had an amazing opportunity working for Steve Wang and Jose Fernandez.
